Zion's National Park, Part II, July 2010

It is now July 7, and we are back to Zions, this time with Rich, Keri, Ryan, Ben and Shelby. This time we came in the morning so the trail was more shady - but the temperature was still hot. We have talked about how much fun it would have been to have planned it for everyone to be here together. Next year we must plan a time for our whole family to be together!

We just got to the parking lot and were walking to the shuttle stop when we saw this friendly deer. You can see how close we were able to stand. It was totally intent on having its breakfast.

Now this is my idea of hiking! Mom gets extra exercise benefit and baby has it made.

We hiked the trail with Ryan and Ben walking most of the way. Ben got carried some because he liked to look at every rock and play in the sand along the trail. Ryan was running ahead and back. We were certainly ready for a little cooling off in the river.

Wading, throwing and skipping rocks seems to be a favorite pastime at any river's edge.

By the time we hiked back down the trail, rode the shuttle and drove to a park West of Springdale to eat our lunch, all were tired, hungry and ready to eat. We had sandwiches, potato salad, chips, etc. etc. before we headed back to St. George.

ANOTHER GREAT DAY!
