Zion's National Park, June 2010

June 21, 2010 was a beautiful, sunny, hot (but not too hot) day at Zion's Park. Rob and Kristine and the girls came down on the 19th to camp and on Monday we joined them for a day of hiking, picture taking and a wonderful dinner.

Rob, Ellie and Maddy waded through the river to a rocky island and "ta da" they made it.

Claire had fun throwing rocks and watching the big splash!

What fun to play in the cool water on a hot day
Kristine and grandma and grandpa stood by and watched and cheered for the waders and for the big splashes and tried a few rock skips.
After the hiking and fun in the water we all were ready for a cool place and so we looked in the visitor's center and other buildings....

The girls found some rock walls and did a little rock climbing or at least "thought about it!

Boy, did that ice cream taste good!!
After going back to the camp site, Rob and Kristine prepared a wonderful dinner over the camp fire. While I'm sure other campers were eating their hot dogs and hamburgers, we were enjoying salmon, shrimp, dutch oven veggies and rice and key lime pie. Later, giant marshmellows were toasted over the coals for a fun bedtime treat.

WHAT A GREAT DAY!!
